Laugavegur Hiking Trail: Day 03

The land of Mordor: dark dust, wind and nothing else as far as the eye can see.

FROM HVANGILL HUT TO EMSTRUR-BOTNAR HUT

Easy wake up and had the time to flight my drone to catch some incredible views of the area of Hvangill Hut. Gorgeous green and a snakey river that catch all the attention.

Soon after the start we found a nice bridge to help cross the mighty river. We never believe what we're about to see and experience...

HORSERIDING

These people ride for over 8 hours a day for 14 days to have some incredible experience. Didn’t know these tour existed but if interested you should search them!

The water-rich beauty of yesterday turns in a moment into a dusty and windswept desert. It's incredible until you see it; just dark dust and a 10km objective far away behind these little mountain we can see. It' really challenging for the mind as there's pretty much nothing to see and with all the weight on my shoulder it felt like a punishment walking. Don't get me wrong, I was amazed all the times.

Luckily halfway of it there's this incredible waterfall, big and bold, that shaked the mood on!

The path lead you just on the side of the "famous" Hattfell, a weird looking small mountain. It's very photogenic and I like a lot some time to rest just watching it.

The Emstrut-Botnar refuge is pretty near; about 20 minute to get to this very pleasant campsite where we spent the night.
